Ingredients

For the Chicken and Potatoes
  • 8 pieces chicken drumsticks
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb baby potatoes halved
For Garnish
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Sheet pan
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Chef’s knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Meat thermometer (optional)

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Mix well to create the marinade.
  3. Step 3: Add chicken drumsticks to the marinade and toss until evenly coated. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Prepare the baby potatoes by halving them and placing them on a sheet pan. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Toss until well coated.
  5. Step 5: Arrange the marinated drumsticks on the same sheet pan as the potatoes.
  6. Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and potatoes are golden brown.
  7. Step 7: Let rest for a few minutes after baking, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For an extra crispy skin, consider broiling the chicken for the last 2-3 minutes. You can add cayenne pepper to the marinade for a spicy kick.
