- Step 1: Grease the baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Step 2: Cut the French bread into 1-inch cubes and place them evenly in the greased baking dish.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Step 4: Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
- Step 5: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Step 6: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) the next morning.
- Step 7: Remove the plastic wrap and drizzle melted butter over the top of the casserole.
- Step 8: Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set in the center.
- Step 9: Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup.
