- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Step 3: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed French bread evenly.
- Step 4: Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring that all pieces are soaked. Use a spatula to gently press the bread down.
- Step 5: Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top and drizzle with melted butter.
- Step 6: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Step 7: After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Step 8: Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For the best results, use day-old French bread. You can prepare this dish the night before and refrigerate overnight before baking.
