Ingredients

For the Lemon Butter Garlic Pasta Sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 zest lemon
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (optional)
  • Cooked pasta of your choice (spaghetti, penne, fettuccine, etc.)

Equipment

  • Large skillet or sauté pan
  • Wooden Spoon or Spatula
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Garlic press (optional)
  • Microplane or zester
  • Serving bowl or plate

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large skillet, melt the 1/2 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t brown; you want it to melt completely and become bubbly.
  2. Step 2: Once the butter is melted, add the 4 cloves of minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant. Be careful not to let it burn, as burnt garlic can impart a bitter taste to the sauce.
  3. Step 3: Stir in the zest of 1 lemon and 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting as necessary.
  4. Step 4: Reduce the heat to low and add your cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss the pasta in the sauce, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  5. Step 5: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and combined.
  6. Step 6: If desired, garnish with 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Serve immediately, and enjoy your delightful pasta dish!

Notes

Feel free to adjust the amount of garlic or lemon according to your taste. If you prefer a richer sauce, you can add more butter or cheese. Don’t hesitate to experiment with additional herbs or spices to make this recipe your own!
