- Step 1: Start by washing your romaine lettuce and arugula thoroughly under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess moisture. Once dry, chop the romaine into bite-sized pieces and place it in your large mixing bowl. Add the arugula on top.
- Step 2: Next, take your cherry tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, and red onion. Halve the cherry tomatoes, dice the cucumber and bell pepper, and thinly slice the red onion. Add all these chopped vegetables to the bowl with the greens.
- Step 3: Now it’s time to add the flavor-packed ingredients! Cube the provolone cheese and dice the salami and pepperoni. Toss these into the mixing bowl along with the sliced black olives. The combination of meats and cheese adds a richness that elevates the salad.
- Step 4: Drizzle the Italian dressing over the entire salad. The dressing will bind the flavors together and add a zesty kick. Use your serving spoon to toss the salad gently, ensuring all the ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
- Step 5: Taste the salad and season it with salt and pepper to your liking. Be careful with the salt, as the meats and cheese already contain some sodium.
- Step 6: Finally, garnish your salad with fresh parsley for a pop of color and added flavor. Serve immediately for the best experience, or transfer it to a storage container if you plan to enjoy it later.
Notes
When making this salad ahead of time, keep the dressing separate until you’re ready to serve to maintain the crispness of the vegetables.
