- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the diced potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain the potatoes using a colander and return them to the pot.
- Step 3: To the drained potatoes, add the sour cream, melted butter, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, cooked bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Step 4: Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and transfer the potato mixture into the dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Step 5: Sprinkle crushed cornflakes or potato chips over the top of the potato mixture.
- Step 6: Bake for 25-30 minutes until the topping is golden and crispy.
- Step 7: Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
