- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Step 3: Stir in the orzo pasta, cooking for an additional 2 minutes while stirring frequently.
- Step 4: Pour in the vegetable broth, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, thyme, and basil. Bring the mixture to a simmer, cooking for 5 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- Step 5: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
- Step 6: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the orzo is tender.
- Step 7: Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For a vegan version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream or a cashew cream, and use a plant-based cheese alternative instead of Parmesan.
