  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

  • Chef's knife for chopping garlic
  • Oven mitts for safe handling
  • Cutting board for preparation

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Step 2: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  4. Step 4: Pour in the vegetable broth, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, thyme, and basil. Bring the mixture to a simmer, cooking for 5 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  5. Step 5: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
  6. Step 6: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the orzo is tender.
  7. Step 7: Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream or a cashew cream, and use a plant-based cheese alternative instead of Parmesan.
