- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: Grease your 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
- Step 3: Cut the loaf of bread into 1-inch cubes and distribute them evenly in the baking dish.
- Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Step 5: Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down gently with a spatula to ensure all pieces are soaked.
- Step 6: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Step 7: Let the dish come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before baking.
- Step 8: Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Step 9: Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm with maple syrup and powdered sugar.
