- Step 1: Rinse the cranberries thoroughly under cold water.
- Step 2: In a large pot, combine the rinsed cranberries and 4 cups of water. Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Step 3: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Step 4: After simmering, remove the pot from heat and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
- Step 5: Using a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth, strain the mixture into a large bowl.
- Step 6: Return the strained juice to the pot and add your sugar. Heat over low heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
- Step 7: If desired, stir in lemon juice for added flavor.
- Step 8: Allow the juice to cool completely before transferring it to bottles or jars for storage.
- Step 9: Your juice can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
For a flavor boost, try adding spices such as cinnamon or ginger during the simmering step. You can also blend cranberries with other fruits for unique variations.
