- Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
- Step 2: If you’re using semi-sweet chocolate chips, stir them in now.
- Step 3: Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours.
- Step 4: Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Step 5: Using a spatula, transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container.
- Step 6: Cover the container and place it in the freezer for at least 4 hours or until it’s firm.
- Step 7: Once frozen, scoop out your delicious homemade chocolate ice cream and serve it in bowls or cones.
Notes
For a creamier texture, consider adding a tablespoon of corn syrup to the mixture.
